Fern Saffron Deacon is an English actress and writer who is best known for her role as Chloe Voyle in Channel 4's "Ackley Bridge" and Catherine Davis in "The Trial: A Murder in the family". Her first professional debut was in Kin at the Royal Court Theatre in 2011 when she was 12 years old. She then went on to perform in a modern adaptation of Electra at the Gate Theatre playing young Electra. In 2012 she played Susan in BBC's three part horror "The Secret of Crickley Hall.". Some of her other works include: Lucy Hedge in Sky 1's Christmas special "Fungus The Bogeyman" and Margaret Hodgson in Sky Living’s BAFTA Nominated series “The Enfield Haunting” acting alongside Timothy Spall and Matthew Mcfayden. Fern has also appeared in "Call the Midwife", “Penny Dreadful”, BBC 3's "Uncle" and feature film "Molly Moon: Incredible Hypnotist" based on the series of books by Georgia Byng.
Fern Deacon is also an avid writer who is currently working on her first web series which is being produced by Screenology Productions. In 2016 she founded Stare Society an online hat and artwork shop. Selling some of her original artwork and berets. Born on 1st September 1998 in Hampshire. Fern is an only child. Her parents enrolled her at Saturday drama classes at age 5 to increase her confidence. In 2010 Fern auditioned and won a full time place at Sylvia Young Theatre School. Fern studied there for 6 years and was head girl from 2014-2015.
